Synopsis

YONDER follows a man who is lost in his dreams. There, in a world that mirrors his sense of loss and isolation, he comes face to face with his spiritual double in what becomes a quest towards the re-creation of his identity.

While the film traces one man's journey through a labyrinth of timeless symbols and characters, it is also a representation of the journey that each of us must make, towards our own self-realization, be it through reflection, dreams, or the creation of our own myths. Seen symbolically, the protagonist's passage through the dream world transverses a number of spiritual and psychological themes, beginning with the madness of unknowing and ending in the recreation of his identity from a projection of unconscious hopes and dreams. After this final union, with his ideal self, he is reborn into a world of his own imaginings.
